I pray this video will inspire you that in the darkness of your life, and in this world full of increasing terror, hatred, division, injustice and inequality, there can be light and hope in it. We defeat the darkness by living each day seeking to answer this question: What can I do to be a blessing to others today?
If you are having a rough time or there is some issue you need to talk about, we are a call or visit away. Our phone number is 1-705-316-0725. We’re located at 445 6th Avenue West, Matheson, Ontario. We’re about an hour’s drive from Timmins and about four hours way from North Bay.
We are here to listen. We are here to help. We are here to help you heal within.
We’ll introduce you to our hand puppets, Dr. Teddy (a therapy teddy bear) and Mike the Moose from Matheson (our resident comedian).
This is Dr. Teddy piping in. “Kids, teenagers, adults and parents, I have been given special powers by God to understand the thoughts of other humans and teddy bears. Life gets hard. We are living in a time where the stress in people’s lives are terribly affecting their physical and emotional health. I want to help you deal with that stress and live the best life possible. I look forward to meeting you.”
“This is Mike the Moose from Matheson. Okay, yeh. What Dr. Teddy said, and uh I just want you to know I use laughter to help you with your stress. Here’s a joke for you. What do you do when a bear who hasn’t had anything to eat sees you and Batman comes along? Give up. You make a bear escape in Batman’s batmobile.”
Well, Dr. Teddy, Mike the Moose, Karen and me need to go to help people smile again.
Have a light-filled life!
Kevin and Karen Osborne are Christian pastoral counsellors and psychotherapists. Kevin is studying to become a chaplain and professor of Psychology specializing in Pastoral Theology. We have started You Can Hope Again Counselling. Karen enjoys doing cross-stitch while I like writing and singing songs. Karen makes me laugh when she sings the kitty bed-time song saying, “It’s that time. It’s the bestest kitty time of the day!” Kevin enjoys teasing the kitties and making them do kitty dances with music. Their kitty, Catherine, loves it when kitty daddeh sings All Things Bright and Beautiful. Kevin likes doing impressions. He tells children’s stories and helps others with their problems using his hand puppet, Dr. Teddy, who is a therapy bear. He is a partner with us in our counselling practice. We are available to assist with worship and preaching to give busy pastors and ministers a much-needed break. We offer in-office, and phone counselling to anyone in the world.
